Something strange for me over last year or so: whenever I rev beyond 5K my battery MIL comes on. Shortly afterwards my CEL light comes on and stays on for a few days. It self clears after that.

If I keep the rev's below 5K this never happens. Any idea what's going on? I didn't read the CEL code yet(I know I should stop by Autozone, but the light is off now).

Scan it even if the light is not on. It could be an intermittent code. PCM detected the problem then when the condition was not there after a few drive cycles, it turned off the CE light. And scan just in case a code is getting ready to come on (just lurking there, with no CEL)

And maybe the gas cap is not properly closed (or broken seal), the high rpms (with vibration) could detect that. Try checking your gas cap too.

Some CEL info is in the owners manual. To download free

Post the CEL after scanning it.

Edit. Battery MIL, charge light? At high RPMs. That could be floating "brushes". Alternator about to go.

Thanks for the post. I will stop by Autozone and check for any codes. Will report back findings.

Sounds like your alternator is on it's way out.
