Hi All...this is not a contour problem...but I know there is some good advice experts here. My friend had an oil leak on his 87 S10 Blazer 4X4. He removed the transfer case and replaced some leaking seals and a gasket. The guy busted his ass all day today under that crap box for his son. In the end it will go into first gear and drive ok, but will not shift into second gear at all. It goes into reverse gear ok and moves ok. It just seems it will not switch gears from 1-2 and 2-3 and 3-overdrive. All fluids are new...other than replacing two end seals and the gasket to the tranny where the transfer box bolts on, nothing else was done. The whole problem started with the bad tranny leak, which he fixed and its not leaking anymore...just wont shift up in the gears?? Anyone have any advice I could offer him to help him out as to what to suspect or look for? Thanks Guys.

Some of the older GM's had a vacuum line hooked to the trans. If I remember correctly when I did my Cutlass I had the same problem & this was the cause. I don't remember what it was called, but my Cutlass was an 81. Hope my vague description helps, but I'm drawing a blank right now, long night at work!
