I'm glad I don't have to do it. I was only offering to help you out. I'm going to Detroit for the weekend anyways.

It's not that difficult to do it without a lift. I have a custom plate made up for my jack that works like a trans jack. Used is many times with great sucess.

Well the tranny is in! took Alex two days since he started late on the car.. but I wasn't in a rush for the car, just wanted it done! Good guy , very friendly and very knowledgable.. he said it was no problem and it was an easy out & in.. when I asked if it was a pain in the but.. he replied : "no, it went smooth and its as complicated as any other car" .. he also said that if any other contours come into the shop he will gladly swap the tranny too

Now the clutch and Flywheel are very soft.. they are like butter.. its going to be tough to relearn how to drive a car with a good 2nd and 3rd gear.. :P

Many thanks to Chris at CTAMotorsports for hooking me up with a Spec1 Clutch kit & SVT Flywheel..

And thanks to anyone that gave me advise through this stressfull ordeal..

Cheers

Martin

Good stuff! How much did he charge you? Did you get a discount?

Glad to hear it went smooth!

The auto trans from my 96 2.5L is 4 sale. hell the whole thing is fair game for parts picking. 159K, routinely flushed etc.

Trans does NOT grind, shift hard etc.. BUT on Thursday a major seal went buh-bye (pisses as fast as you can pour). Needless to say, the girl is 100% parked. It was not run "dry".

I know this is NOT a classifieds forum, please forgive me.
Because of this sudden trans seal failure, I'd like to either sell it whole or fix the seal and then sell it or part it out.

Leather interior (tan), power everything, sunroof, Air does NOT work don't ask me why haha).. NEW rear rotors and pads, new emergency cable, new ball joint (right). 4 NEW (6k) summer and 4 NEW (8K) winter tires. Summer mounted, winter are not. Sz 205/60/15.

Open to suggestions for recovering the $ in her and getting it out of my yard. Moving onto a pickup Tuesday.

Good to hears it working Martin,

Looks like I will be getting my transmission very soon now:D, let me know how you like the Spec1 with SVT flywheel combo, I will be running the same in my SVT except I got my flywheel lightend to 16lbs and balanced. Oh did you have to buy a throw out bearing from the dealer or did you just use the one that came with the kit?

Hey Arron...

I see you're in burlington and was wondering if Eurodrive Clutches lightened your flywheel? How much was it to get it done?

THanks

John.
