Has anyone tried one of these so called "race mufflers" [ as they were described to me by the exhaust shop manager.]yet? It's a bullet style case, but inside there is a open core about an inch or so in diameter. Between the inner core, and the case wall is a welded in heilical [sp] baffle the length of the thing. I really would like to try one out but this place wanted $125.00 for one, [stainless] and once they weld it in no refund. It had no name on it, so I don't know what to ask for if I shop for a regular steel one, or just a better price on the stainless model. Any help, or anyone heard them?

You'll notice I didn't ask about a "cherry bomb" glasspack. I asked, not for a "what works?" recomendation, but rather a "does THIS work?". The design is something I hadn't seen before, and I asked because if it's "NEW" then the "junk/not junk" may not be widely known yet. So there for I thought to ask my fellow "open minded" contour gear heads for any feed back, good, or bad. Thanks for yours

That's what I was after, and at $45.00 from Summit [mild steel.] I'm willing to try one out.

Ron's95SE: Summit didn't have them in stock. They said 5-7 days to get it. I'll let you know my opinion on it's effectiveness when it comes in though.

Scooby, if you want to replace the stock resonator, I agree with Aussie. I have looked through the Eldebrock and it is an excellent design (trust me). Very straight through, non degradable ceramic packing surrounds straight through "dual" path core.
The Moroso part is center inlet & oulet. Unless you modify your pipes you need offset inlet / outlet. I looked at this with resonator I put on the Bassani (I needed a small center in /out so the Eldebrock was too big). The Banzai I got is real nice but will not work for you.

Thanks for your input Dan. I do respect your opinion. I also have the utmost respect for the Edelbrock brand. The piece you and Aussie refer to seems like a top notch design, and if the Moroso isn't to my liking I will give it a try. The main reason the Moroso design interests me is that I'm hoping it will be just enough tone reduction to do the job. This thing is not being sold/marketed as a street/strip muffler. Race piece. I have supertrapps now, and after playing with the disc count I'm VERY happy with the results at this point. I have a bit of droan under 2500 rpm or so. The overall sound is heavenly to me, and I'm afraid a "true" street muffler may quiet it down more than I want. But as I said if it doesn't work out I'll warn everyone to run far and fast from it, and put the Edelbrock in.
