I know many people have the KKM intake and along with that they have that "moosing" noise. Now i had this prob and then someone suggested doing the TH FIX. Now my car always ran fine before that but sounded like ****(from the moosing).so i got the copper pipe cap and drilled the 3/16 hole in it and put it in and it sounded better for about 2-3 weeks. then recently i went to start my car and noticed the idle was not normal. it was idleling very low, almost bogging out. and it got worse until finally i started my car and it wouldnt start. So i had to hold the gas all the way down start the car and hold it like that for like 1/2 min until it ran. my mechanic happend to be with me at the time(fixing another ****ing prob with the car) and told me you cannot place an obstruciton like that in your intake. It causes the engine not to perform as it should( he went to greater detail). so i took it out and of course it ran fine with no prob. So in the end the th fix will decrease the noise, but your sacrificing engine performace/durability.the engine is not getting the proper ventilation.

Thats funny cause I and many other ppl have been running it for years now with now without any problems. Did you reset your ECU after you added the copper pipe? I actually didn't even do it to kill a moose noise (didn't have one) I did it to kill the tremendous Throttle Hang I was experiencing. Also I have tried revertting back several times and each time I end up putting it back in due to so much throttle hang Go Figure

Uhhh.. That's crap. The copper cap is just for the IAC. It is supposed to restrict the air going through the IAC passage. However, the hole should be big enough to let the engine idle properly. A complete passage blockage wouldn't let the engine idle properly. Did you read the part about drilling the hole wider so it idles correctly?
No need to call something a "lie" just because you didn't get it to work the first time.

First, I have the fix in my car for a year now... What kind of weather were you having when you first installed the fix? If it has gotten substantially hotter or colder, you need to redrill the hole in another cap for this temperature.
