Hello, I've been around for a while, but usually do not post.

I have a 95 SE 5-Speed with around 107,000 miles on it. I know I'll need a clutch soon (it is original). What I was wondering is if there are any good places to take the car to be done, that will do good work at a reasonable price. I no longer have this type of time to do a job this big.

It would need to be a place somewhat near Wilmington, MA (north of Boston, but south of NH)

Is there anything else that should be done at this time, aside from clutch, PP, throwout bearing, and rear main seal?
I also will have the leaky inner CV's replaced at this time too.

Any info. is appreciated.

Dan

are you sure that you need a new clutch?

my fathers 95 has 114k on it with the original clutch and it grabs fine

my 95 has 148k on what I think is the original clutch, it is still grabbing strong, "knock on wood"

until Zacks 95 died near 200k he still ahd the orginal clutch in his car

but yes you would need a clutch, throw out bearing and slave cyclinder, one peice and make sure it is a Ford part, and a new rear main seal couldn't hurt anything. make sure you get the flywheel resurfaced also

Yes, you always replace a clutch and pressure plate at the same time, and like Brapple said, all of the other stuff that's in there too.

And mileage alone does not necessitate a new clutch. I have driven cars that have over 200k on the original, and have heard of people replacing theirs after only 30k... it all depends on driving habits and daily driving conditions.
