following up on this post:

http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=perf&Number=1010471&fpart=&PHPSESSID=

I am going to "jimmy rig" the other side of the pipe on with a muffler clamp, jb weld, deadbolt, and intuition. (laugh here)

So what size clamp do I need on both sides.Behind the flange on the y pipe and in front of the catalytic to the other side of the flange. Should Murray's or autozone have it?

I didn't say mock me

I'm not going to get a new y pipe, going to revolutionize the way to fix this problem. I'll go public with my idea and sell it to ford

BACK TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION

What size clamp do I need?

I don't see how you can use a pipe clamp to fix that.

You need a two piece flange to put behind the broken one. That would fix it.

We're on #3, I'll just go measure it.

I'll show you all how to fix it, and if it breaks more, then you showed me

I hope you realise that it needs to be a flexible joint there otherwise you could break the studs out of your head if the exhaust is not allowed to pivot at that flange.

Like stated you will not be able to clamp that.

Get a different Y-pipe. (smartest option)

or

Have a muffler shop weld a flex joint to your Y-pipe and the cat section.

Fixed it, but still will be geting a new y pipe.

Fix was to get an L bracket, cut it down to just the "elbow" leaving one hole still open. Locked in bracket with muffler clamp, this basically replaced one side of the flange, installed new bolt where old one was. Put new bolt in with washers and spring on then nut on th end, same size as other bolt and it SWIVELS like the other bolt.

Everthing is tight and moves around like original. Done. I'll post some pictures.

I was the monkey of this operation, ideas came from good friend who has worked on ford cars for over 30 years.
