Unfortunately if you get a Contour for under $3k, it likely needs many repairs or is slowly on its way to car heaven.

I would likely get an older Japanese car like Toyota or Subaru. These things never seem to need big repairs even if they're 10 years old or more (based on what I've seen). My 2c.

Word of advice: never let friends borrow your car. I've seen too many topics on this board where CEGers got screwed because of 'friends'.

Dude, that was totally uncalled for. I don't want to see you post like this again.

i would try to talk to your parents and see if maybe you could come to some kind of resolution besides the one they thought of already...usually if you sit down w/them something better may come out of it....twowheeling...not only is this a car site but it is also a site to get help or answer questions...there are real people behind the wheel of these cars you know!

hey, im a dad with two great sons and when they screwed up, i made all kinds of outreagous threats that i had no intention of keeping. so do your parents. kiss their ass, make outrageous promises, detail their cars, be nice to your sister, call your grandmothers, hug your mom a lot, wash the dishes, and never ever let anyone borrow your car or your girlfriend, they will try to throw a rod in both of them. it is better to beg forgiveness than to ask permission. wink

240zx's are good cheap cars most of the time. My friend had one for his first car. Picked it up for $1800. Never really had any problems with it and he drove that thing hard and didn't put any money into it.

FIRST RULE: never never ever let anyone else drive your car no matter how much you trust them. I can count on one hand how many people got behind the wheel of my car and that was just to move it 10 feet maybe.

Thats right NEVER let anyone drive your car. They may get pissed like you dont trust them, but its a good thing to do. They maybe freinds but if they get into an accident with your car you won't be for long.
