im going paintballing for my police explorers meeting tommorrow (never done it before), is it good to wear a lot of clothing, even though, its going to be like 95 degrees so it doenst hurt as bad?, isnt the paint washable in clothes?, is there any advice about clothing, and techniques and other info before i go tommorow, at 5pm so i dont die right away, any info about anything in paintballing would be good, thanks mike

There are SO many techniques you could learn, but none you could grab in a 3 minute read online.
The simplest thing I can say is:
Think laterally. Don't get involved in a pin-down between you and another person. Staying still will allow them to flank and pick you off while you are busy trying to get "that one guy"...
For the most part: stay moving. a still target is easier to hit.
If you are playing long enough rounds that you will need to reload in the midst of battle, don't go in to a gun fight without enough ammo to support that particular engagement. . sucks to run out of ammo and they are still loaded!

A face mask (or at least protective goggles) is an absolute must. Otherwise, you shouldn't get hurt too badly.
The last time I played I was against someone who was much better than me.. I kept reaching around a tree to shoot him, and he'd nail me in the hand. It stung like hell at first, but was nothing major, and it healed in a few days. And yes the paint will wash out of most clothes without any problems.

definitely wear some older clothes that you don't care about. You don't want to have to worry about diving into that mud puddle to avoid getting shot. Lot's of strafing and watching your six.

Dude, this statement just makes me cringe. GO TO Academy and get a freakin cup. Haven't you ever been kicked in the balls? Forget that, what about just tapped...It hurts like hell!

i would also wear a bandanna around your neck. i always folded one over a few times (to 2 inches wide or so, not cowboy style). i will never forget the pain of being shot in the throat from about 5 yards away (right on the freakin adams apple!). ever since that day, having something around my neck to soften the blow (anything is better than nothing!) was a must.
i wouldnt worry about heavy clothing elsewhere. jeans and a light long sleave shirt are OK. getting shot from the neck down (except the boys) isnt too bad. protect what counts!
