Well, I remember reading that someone tried using flowmasters for a set up just like Cardoc designed. The smallest flowmaster is 9.75" wide and that doesn't fit where the stock res is. So where could it go. I suppose you could chop off closer to the cat, but there's the bolt flange whatever-it's-called and I have no clue if it's okay to cut that far up. Anyway, suggestions would be great because I finally got the damned muffler only to find out it doesn't bloody fit (fordmondeo influence!)

Are you dead set on running 2 dual pipes all the way to the back???

Cardoc's muffler is moved up. It sits just behind the cat's rear S-bend. (keeps the stock cat and S-bend intact - NC)

Ok.. Beyond what Demon has to say.. FUseface has installed a Flowmaster in the resonator position.. I don't recall exactly which one he used.. But I saw it in person and heard it.. It's been done. I would private message him if you don't hear from him today or tomorrow - I'll drop him a note on my site to stop and fill you in.

Hey

Yeah, I have a 40 series flowmaster. It is a TIGHT fit, but it did stuff in there. I had to remove most of my heat shield. (I was a little worried about this, but so far nothing has melted inside my car :D) And, I have gone on several 200 + mile road trips with it, not to mention I drive for work every day, and havent noticed any increase in cabin temp.

Oh yeah, and i have it where the resonator was. Like I said, it is a tight fit, but it worked.

Good luck on whatever you choose.

The "Yodude" exhaust for the Cougar places a flowmaster muffler in the resonator location. It's a very snug fit, but literally hundreds of people have this exhaust.

I appreciate all this help. I didn't want to have to go through and search for another muffler that actually fits 2.5" to 2.25" dual and is "only" 60 bucks. Plus Carparts just sh*t the bed and was taken over by JCWhitney whos muffler selection is more than lacking compared to what Carparts.com offered. I'm not terribly happy about that transition. Anyway, thanks alot. I'll see what the guy says today.
