I have a csvt 98.5 with 68k mi. and lately I have noticed some jerk during shifting in all gears. It feels like Im taking the clutch very fast, but this isnt the case. The clutch is the original and I have flush my tranny 30k ago with the ford honey. Is this a symptom of clutch wear?

I will really appreciate your comments, cause I couldnt find something similar with the search function.

Go somewhere where you can put it in 3rd gear and let the revs drop to 1500. Accelerate hard and see what happens.

Todd,

It jerks 3 or 4 times, and then it accelerates, I was looking at the rpm and speed needles and both increases smoothly. I didnt notice a rpm jump.

I wonder if a tired stab-o-shock and tired roll resistors are a factor. If you've driven your car hard, they could be pretty shot.

Bob, thank you for your reply, but I dont think this could be my problem, I dont drive in a hard way, and the suspension was upgraded less than a 1 year ago.

Those items I mentioned are not considered suspension components, and upgrading your suspension would leave them unaffected. Do you know where the stab-o-shock mounts? Have you checked the postings on poly'd roll resistors? If your clutch is fine, your problem may be the engine/transaxle is bouncing around on shifts, if they're not sufficiently held in place. About hard driving in the past, are you the original owner? My rear roll resistor looked like hell when I had it replaced.

That sounds like an engine drivability problem, not a trans or chutch problem.

Possible causes could include worn plugs, arcing plug wires, dirty injectors, and dirty throttle body.

Where are you on maintenance on these things?

Yep Jim nailed it I think. I'm guessing plugs/wires. They seem to go very quickly on our cars. I've been through 3 sets of wires. FMS wires are about $42 through Bill at Chicago connection and Autolite APP764's are the best bang for the buck IMO.

I've never heard of worn mounts causing that kind of trouble.
