I have a 4 cylinder DOHC engine and I need to remove the tensioner assembly but when I tried to do this the idle pulley is in the way and the Hayes manual I purchased from AutoZone does not tell me how to either remove the tensioner assembly or how to remove the idle pulley? Anyone have a process for doing this or maybe give me some help. Thanks in advance!

Are you referring to the serpentine belt or timing belt?

The serpetine belt. The tensioner is located on the near the bottom of the engine and one of the bolts doesn't seem to be able to be removed unless the idling pulley is removed.

I see. Isn't there a bolt in the middle of the idler? I think that the bolt unscrews and the idler comes off. I think so anyway, I'd have to either look at my manual or my car to see for sure, so this post may be worthless

Coach Pete, see pages 1-20 to 1-22 of your Haynes manual. The procedure for removing the tensioner pulley and tensioner is described there.
