I am currently in the middle of repainting my car (95 Contour). Well, in the process the front door handle bezel for both front doors (the outside) they both broke off while taking them off the car. I went to the junkyard and tried to take them off the cars as well. They broke (the screw broke off while trying to unscrew it). I assume if I find more at junkyards the same thing will happen. I looked at all of the links I could find here and also other searches I could find for cheap ford parts. But all I could find was $29 each. Does anyone else know where I could find these door handle bezels for cheap? Any help would be great. I have some more sanding to do before we can prime and repaint it another color. We should be ready for them by Monday or Tuesday (can't work on the car until Friday next). Any help would be great.

P.S. I have already placed an ad in the classfieds and emailed someone to see if they had the parts off of their parted out contours.

I can't help you with finding the parts, but I am interested in what color you're going to paint it. What color is it now? Are you just going to do a plain paint job, or something more exotic?

PM Hetfield, he has a donor car and might be able to help you out. He's actually located in Milwaukee, WI so it might be worth while to take a trip over there.

My Contour used to be Champagne(tan). We completely sanded it down. We are going to paint it metallic blue. Everything. Door jams included. I even found a few small rust spots that are now fixed, and a couple of dents and scratches are now gone as well.
We sanded it with 80 grit, and then primed it 2 times. Now we need to sand it with 320 grit and then prime and paint it. It has been sitting for about a week collecting dust, since my friend has other jobs to take care of. We'll get to it soon. I hope!! I am currently driving my truck until it is done. I want my car back!!! I will post pics when it is done. I can't wait!!!

Where are you painting it?

That's bad! my Mystique's champagne, and my friends contour is that Royal blue. I must say blue and black both look good on these cars when kept clean...

I have owned this car for about 8 years. Champagne has been a great color for me. But after 8 years, a color change would be ok. I am not that worried about it getting to terribly dirty, I keep up my car just fine. I don't really care if it does get dirty that the dirt will show. Then it will be easier for me to tell when it needs a bath!!

I just thought I'd post an update. As far as the door handle bezels, I ended up fixing then ones that broke. It was the screw that broke off.
Now the paint job is done!
