Hey everyone,

I have a 99 Contour SE and I'm looking to install an intake for my car. I'm going to purchase a K&N RU-3530 and the MAF adapter, and will also build a heatshield. I've searched through a lot of the posts about intakes but most of them pertain to the SVT intake. My question is, what am I supposed to do with the small sensor attached to my stock air filter box? It seems that there'd be no place for it if I just install the MAF adapter and the K&N filter.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

the Ebay POS kits for our cars actually have a hole in the maf adaptor for that sensor (atleast the one that I bought did). Other than that you may have to just cut a small hole into the rubber part of the intake that goes around the maf adaptor. This has been covered atleast once that I can remember, not sure of the outcome though.

BTW its commonly referred to as heat-shield, not heatsink. Only heatsink mod I recall seeing is this one:

hopefully someone that has faced this problem can pitch in.

Make a hole where the filter meets the MAF adapter and put the IAT (intake air temp sensor) there, like in the pic.

I had this question pretty recently

solution

it's really easy, but a month after I ordered it I still hadn't got it, so I called SPmotorsports, and they told me they weren't making them any more, but sent me one he had lying around
