its quite a long story with many parts. the way the whole company operates for one is completely bs. the people who actually run it are another story.

well i didnt like the whole "free cd installation, for a cd player over 100 bucks, then, you have them do that, and they charge, another 40 for the wiring kit and mounting kit (that was before i knew how to do it myself) but i understand its bussiness they have to make money somehow, (for other wiring kit, when i switched the cd player to my contour it was 8 bucks at walmart, thought that was interesting, but beside that, no personal problems w/ best buy it self (had my share w/ other stores though)

I enjoy going there to browse electronics, but if I'm going to buy something that I need questions answered about I tried to avoid BB like the plauge ( I usually go to Good Guys for info, their service is much better here atleast). Customer Service sucks there and the prices are the the greatest either. EB games is just down the street so I go there to buy games at the same price, but the people there are so much better.
Coming from working at CompUSA and that background (and also having several friends work for places like BB, GG and CC) I can say that many Electronic stores seem to have the same issues keeping employees/customers happy.

I've been trying to get into Best Buy to work there FOREVER!! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif) That's the only reason I dislike them at the moment!
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

I go there for DVD's and CD's. They can't mess them up. I've asked the same computer questions at 3 different stores and gotten 3 different answers--all wrong. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) As for h/u, speakers, etc, I'll go elsewhere. I will be there next Tuesday when the second XXX movie comes out.

best buy used to have really killer ads on sunday, especially around Christmas time. people would line up waiting to get in. for the past few years though it seems like ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif) ads. my buddy worked there years ago and was always saying how they had killer employee discounts, but i think i heard they cut that down quite a bit.. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ponder.gif) other than that, i dont mind them. they have a good selection with decent pricing. i would trust anyone from there, CC, or GG on car stereo info. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif) i usually already know what i need to know but if i do have a question ill try to ask the installers. theyre typically real car stereo guys, as opposed to the salespeople. i love it when i go into a GG and there is some 30+ woman there trying to tell me about stereo stuff ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif) "Sony is definitely the brand to choose for speakers and amps"

I went to best buy to have my Pioneer Premier HU installed (didn't want to have to deal with it). Anyways, I told the guy to bypass the factory amplifier, and he told me that usually they don't do that since the factory amp is usually BETTER than the amp in my CD player (yeah, ok...riiiight). Then I waited for an hour, and found out that he didn't even know how to bypass the amp and that I'd have to come back another day when the manager was there.
I told him to go online to CEG, and he had it bypassed within 10 minutes
Anyways, the place sucks. They have a good selection of music, dvds and electronics though...
