I was driving to one of my favorite restaurants last night and came to a stop at a redlight. Then when the light changed I had no gears at all. The clutch pedal is still engaging. Only 63k miles and I've torn it up already. I'm hoping it's the shifter rod/cable. Any ideas?

That's why I had it towed to Team Ford in Marietta since a good friend of mine works there and will prob take care of it for the price of parts.

I'm not beating on the Stang until the Contour is back in action. I guess all the 2nd gear slams in the Contour finally took its toll on something.

Wow, I bought my contour at 58k miles.. no more then 2k miles later did it do this exact same thing it sounds like.

I was driving home from school, approaching a stop sign I down shifted from 4th to 2nd at probably no more then 45mph then shifted to neutral. When I went to shift to 1st the clutch didn't engage, but the pedal felt no different at all.. could this have been the same problem?? I had to spend near 700 bucks on a new clutch/labor. Or did Skyline just rip me off?

Check the cable ends too. Mine popped off of my transmission one time.

I replaced mine over the winter. The part was about $60 or $70 through my friend at the Ford dealer. What a pain it is to replace the cables. Took me about 5 hours to do it. We'll, 2 of those hours was spent staring at it thinking wtf do I do now? Hope I never have to do another set again.

After talking to my friend (the tech) at Ford, he said it is the cable. He told me to be easier on the shifter because the Contour/Mystiques and Foci have the same problem.
