well this car is starting to frustrate me. I have had a p0401 code since i got the car that i cant seem to get rid of. And its also comming up with a few others right now. p0153 and the code reader says pending so im not sure what that means. p0171 and p0174 as well. I tried cleaning the maf to no avail and i dont know where to start for trying to track down a vaccuum leak on this thing. Should i just pull off the upper intake and go through everything? I was also curious how many lines go to the DPFE, i took a look since i know thats one thing that may be causing the p0401 and there is only the 1 plug and one line going to the tube thats closest to the block, is there supposed to be a line going to the tube closest to the fender?

There is one line to the EGR and two lines to the DPFE.
You might want to check out this site for P0153, P0171 and P0174. I had P0171 and P0174 once and it was a broken vacuum line. Yours could all be related to the EGR.
Maybe a gasket is leaking (?). Others will chime in with their suggestions.

Chongo, I was trying to find this picture. I had saved it on my hard drive. BalticBlue93 6-12-05. This is an excellent picture to show most of the left side engine components.

The way you have the connections looks unusual, but might just be so you keep the hoses in view? EGR needs its green hose, 90 degree bend in it.

Where does the other hose on the DPFE go to? I cant seem to see a place for it to go, or see the hose that would have falled off for that matter. Maybe we snagged it when we did the alternator or something.
