Guys, I've been thinking - with all this talk about manually pinning the secondaries open - why not just wire in a switch to activate the IMRC whenever you want? This is of course assuming that it is working at all! That way - if you want the secondaries "pinned" open - you just have to flip a switch, and forget waiting for the computer to open them up (somewhat sluggishly) at ~3500 RPM. Should not be hard to do on the newer cars (I believe the older ones used vacuum). I think I am going to pursue the matter on my own this weekend if I have time if I can find a way to "inconspicously" wire in a switch (I like my warranty).
If this has been tried before, just ignore my ignorance! I however would like my secondaries to open a bit quicker, and don't want a chip...

Dave - I can go you one better on this idea. Feel free to try it out and report back here if you do this. It's on my list of things to do at some point, but there are a few things ahead of it in line. MSD sells an rpm switch that uses a variable module for activation between 1000-3000rpms. What I was thinking of doing is using that switch to fire the imrc activation circuit at about 2800-2900rpms. Cost for the msd stuff is only about $70 from summit. I know, I know, I am the man. Or, like someone mentioned before, you could use a computer like an Apex VFC to control the secondaries.
They can be used to change VTEC ativation, so they should be able to change IMRC activation also....and add or subtract fuel accordingly.
