A true 70 El Camino SS 350 that I bought a few weeks ago!!!! I have always loved the Camino and how much more rare they are around Chicago than the Chavelle and Camaro. She has a few rough spots but nothing a winter of storage can't fix. The very nice older man that was salling it tried his best to keep it stock and running good but he could only move with a cain and it was hard to get in and out of for him. It has 5 rough spots that I am gonna knock out during the next year. Two of them my brother and I will be fixing next week and that will be replacing the carpeting and the rear shocks and springs. The 350 is not original but it is the same 350 that the Camino SS came with. It is 300hp and 350tq.
If anyone has any good El Camino info or advice please leave some!
Here are a few pics from the day after I bought her......... I had to adjust the mirrors cause the guy i bought it from is like 5 foot and the only way I could see out of them was if I turned them all the way sideways, like in the pics. I will put before and after interior pics on my cardomain site at the end of next week. I am so happy to have my first 300hp car!!!!
Sweet Charlie. I used to own an 1982 el Camino with a small block 400 Definately a great car, but I wouldnt try driving in the snow with it. She likes to chase her tail in situations like that.
I think that goes down as one of the fastest cars I've owned besides the 1980 Cutlass 442 with the T-tops.
