I need some help.
I took my dads 1998 Ford Contour SE
2.0 DOHC to the grocery store a few minutes ago. And when I went to back out of the parking space the car started to shake while in reverse. Its an automatic transmission but anyways well I shut it off and turned it back on. And it didnt do it until I drove 3 miles to a gas station got a bottle of pop. And got back in shaked in reverse, then I shut it off and turned it bak on again. I got up to the exit and when i went to push the gas to go it wouldnt it was moving real slow. It seemed like it was in a high gear it wasnt revving loud or anything but it wouldnt go. I once again shut it off and turned it back on and it went I don't no what is wrong with it can somone give me some clues??

Not too sure, but... Our '91 accord does this and it's cause the motor mounts suck. Perhaps somebody who's smarter than me can chime in here?

Sounds a little like low fluid. Check the tranny fluid before driving the car any more. Do a couple of 4 quart drain & fill sessions in one day if it is low, or if it smells burned.

PM Unisys12 with your problem. He's the ATX expert.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

the transmission fluid is at the full level. It doesn't really smell burned

Did you check it while the engine was on and hot? Many people fail to do this and will give you a bad reading. Make sure to run the ATX through all of its ranges (P,R,N, etc) and then check it. 100,000 miles is a good life. That's when my old Buick's automatic dropped out.
