I've searched through the General, Troubleshooting and suspension forums but haven't found anything. I've replaced 3 time the passenger side front wheel bearing. I had my mechanic check to see if the "axel" was the problem and also the from wheel hub. The axel seems fine and the front hub is just within spec. Just has added info, I've replaced the tie rod end, inner tie rod, lower control arm, spring and had to fix a bent mag wheel. Alot of things have needed to be replaced on that side. I'm not sure if I should replace the front hub or if there's anything else that would require me to change the front wheel bearing with every oil change! Or if there any reason why I'm replacing bearings this often. (BTW: The first bearing was replaced by a different mechanic using Ford parts, the other 2 was done by my "new" regular mechanic using SKF bearings)

Thanks for everyones help!

HUbcould be bad.. I know I have heard of people replacing wheel bearing after wheel bearing because the hub was bad and the bearing could not be pressed propperly.

What kind of wheels do you have? Could a bad offset rim cause this?

while diagnosis across the internet is a difficult thing:

things to note:

make sure they are being pressed to 214 FT/lbs of torque, on that axle nut. Less could lead to premature failure.

Also, if the bearing failed, and spun, it would eat away at the hub making the ID slightly larger, not allowing a proper press.

IF all else fails, and you decide to replace the hub:

Get your hub from Steve, at Tousley Ford. (in the Duratec Maintenance FAQ) for your hub. 165.00 shipped with the bearing already pressed!!!

just grab another axle nut and you can do that on your own in 20 minutes!

Thanks Ray for the Info. It makes sense. I guess that the best thing to do is to replace the hub. Good thing that we can easily get parts from the US cheaply, I asked a local dealer for the cost: 280$ (BTW: What's the difference between the hub from Tousley vs from Bill Jenkins?)
I think that this car has had a serious encounter with a pot hole on the passenger side. I'm headed towards a complete rebuild of everything on that corner.

I'm running stock mags.

Thanks again for everyones help...

The only difference is in the price.. I think Bill J happens to be more expensive on this part. They both sell OEM FORD parts.
