I currently had new tires put on my car (Tire Kingdom) and have run into an issue. Half way through getting tires put on my car I noticed they weren't the ones I had discussed with the sales person to put on. So- we discussed what options we had and he found the tire I had wanted, but it was a 205/60/16. I wasn't aware of what the difference in performance would be, so I said go ahead and they were put on.

I have had the tires on for about 400 miles and am noticing certain things such as worse fuel mileage, slower response, and handling. Should I be warry of anything messing up on my car such as shocks going out or etc?

The sales guy said I could bring the tires back if I didn't like the tires and if the were rubbing. I haven't noticed rubbing but the suspension seems to be a little louder when going over good sized bump and or pot holes.

The only other size they make in this tire is a 225/50/16 and this is the tire I would prefer to have.

QUESTION: Would I be better off going with the 225/50/16 rather than what I currently have the 205/60/16?

Thanks for any and all input!

I have the 225/50/16 on mine and I have had no problem with them at all. Great gas mileage and no suspension noise.

Take them back and get the 225s. You'll be happier.

Your present tires are just a bit tall, which means your speedo will read a bit slow, and your odo will err to the small side. So, while your mileage may actually suffer a bit because of the taller tire, part of the decrease in mileage is attributable to the odo error.

I find that to be almost unbelievable! I've never heard of a place that would take back tires after 400 miles just because the customer "didn't like them". You need to keep your name in front of these people so they don't forget you. I'd say you've found a very rare place to do business.

Tire Kingdom is for real. I even went in for a set of Bridgestones they had in an ad, but they were not in stock in my size. I opted for some Michelins at the suggestion of the salesman. THEY SUCKED!! So I brought them back with nearly a month of wear on them for a swap to my original choice. NO CHARGE, have a nice day.

They are under new ownership these days & their prices are not as competative as they used to be so I don't buy there much, but the service still seems to be pretty good.

I just pulled out my Tire Kingdom VIP discount card! Didn't know I still had it!

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
