ok, so I have patiently waited for this day [for a mere 6 years], but I finally landed an engineering job and I can consider doing more to my car than just the really cheap bolt-ons.

First off, I want to ensure my car stays in prime shape and second, I'm not sure how far I will realistically beef my car. Its great to think I'll have a 3l swap and a turbo but I want to do this right from the start reguardless of how far I push it.

Right now I have an intake and exhaust, but my next goal was for an svt radiator and a tranny cooler. My thoughts were that I would be increasing the livespan of my drivetrain and would be necissary if I did some serious mods later.

Anyones thoughts? and where would the best place to buy an SVT radiator?

thanks

When you compare the specs of the SVT radiator versus normal (I remember reading in a post sometime ago) you will see that it really is quite an improved unit!

You could possibly get one from a junkers ... check www.car-parts.com ... and check out the Signature webpage.

Be aware that the SVT radiator does not have a trans cooler built in. Maybe that is why you mentioned that you will be adding a trans cooler. Usually it is far more satisfactory to add a air to fluid trans cooler to the front of the car WITH the original (inside radiator) fluid to fluid trans cooler. This helps to not just cool the fluid, but also keep it at an ideal temp. You may say that it moderates the temperature.
