I have a 99 CSVT and it was in an accident and i have to replace the drivers side strut and spring assembly. I have a V6 model Non SVT spring and strut assembly to put on. Im wondering, will this cause it to sit higher and ride different? Im thinking it for sure will sit higher so what would be the best way to lower just that one corner?
thanks

The 98 1/2 and newer SVT (including yours) has stiffer valved front struts than the non SVT. Ride height would be the same, but handling would be wierd if you mixed SVT with non SVT struts.

I emailed Bill Jenkins a few months ago asking about svt struts for my 2000 se. He wrote me back stating that the se&svt front struts are the same and now share the same part#(which can be confirmed on his parts catalog site) and that the rears are svt specific. so basically 98+ se/svt share the same fronts only the rears are different. Bill usually knows his stuff. hope this helps ya.

Very interesting. So now the front SVT struts are no longer available from Ford. So if we want to retain the SVT stiffer struts when they need replacing, we will now need to look elsewhere.

Does anyone else have more info on this? The struts that are now shared between the SE/SVT, are they SVT valving or SE valving?

Back in Decembet 04' I had the front passenger strut replaced do to an accident, and the replacement strut has an SVT label on it. I'm finally getting un-lazy and replacing the other 3 struts to sort-off match that one.
