Well it depends on the width on how they'll fit the wheel and also the offset on if they rub or not. Anyways, I have 225/45/17s sitting at my work waiting for the new wheels and I put 205/50/15s (which barely fit the stock wheels and are a few millimeters away from rubbing the rear struts) on the escort today. All fuzion zri's. Liking them so far.

That would fit. I have 225/40's on my stock 6.5" SRT wheel. BFG Drag Radials. Haven't had any problems at all with them either.

Different tire, different manufacturer, different wheel. Doesn't apply to this. Anyways, like I said, already bought tires.

Quick question..the wheels that you are going to use, were they Motegi's with a 42 offset? I am think about the same tire set up and I want to make sure I am using the right offset to minimize the risk of rubbing.

Thank you,
Basil

No, I bought a set of st200s off ebay, still waiting for them to get here. You should be fine with the motegis. If the ebay wheels never get here, I'll end up getting motegis or REV wheels.

Thanks for the response. Everything seems all over the map. I will check out the offset numbers on the st200s. Most of the Motegi are 42's. I only want to do this once, and I like the idea of 225/45/17's for this sidewall height.

Offset on the st200s is -49. The motegis with -42 offset should be fine. There is always a small chance that you may have to roll/cut part of the fenders with any wheel/tire combo on our cars as each car and tire is different. I think you'll be fine. If you have any rubbing it would probably be the rear fender well lining which would be easy to fix.

I don't know, they're 49 something. Why need pics? They look like any other st200s, except this time, they don't really go with the "ricer" look of my car.
