I'll most likely be following Roger's footsteps. I've got the Roush springs purchased, now am looking for Koni struts to match with it. I was leaning towards BAT struts, however after reading some bad feedback regarding matching them w/ the Roush springs on the Cougar forums, I'm leaning away from that setup.

I have taken extensive suspension measurements/observations and can make the following comments.
I measured a set of Roush Cougar rr springs before install, calculated the rates and they are not stiffer than the stock early SE springs. As I recall, the rates are almost equivalent to SVT springs (don't have the data handy). They are shorter at free height, lowering the car when installed.
Also, if you look at the lateral rr control arms they are NOT level at standard ride height (at least not my Contour). They are higher at the subframe mount/lower at the knuckle. This is with an unloaded vehicle using (relatively new) stock early SE springs. Now the front A arms are much closer to being level at stock ride height.
The absolute best geometry would be with all arms/links level with the car loaded with it's normal passeneger load, fluids and 1/2 tank of gas.

Do you have any actual numbers you could give me? I'm looking for the length of the control arms, position of the strut mount, etc.

I'm going to do something, sometime, probably when I put on your stuff. I'm going to hit the parts that are the worst with a grinder and then spray them with rust-stopping stuff. The parts that are salavageable I'll put some time into and get to the metal before I paint. I'm hoping to get all new rear control arms/subframe if I keep racing this thing over the next few years, so I'm not to worried about them. My calipers are shot, I'm just going to get rotors/calipers/pads/SS hoses when these pads go. The body metal is actually okay, there are some spots on the backside I need to hit with something. I'm not too worried about the frame, I think a once-over with a metal brush grinder attachment and some rustoleum should buy me some time. I'll probably part out the car in a couple years anyway, but I am growing attached to it, so I need to do something before another winter hits it.

Can you be more specific? Control arms & spring rates I can do. Not sure what you want for the strut though...
Also, front or rear?

where did you get the information that the autobahn springs are higher rate, and why the strut mixing\matching? ....oh and btw, the autobahn set for the post 98 contour is 2.25f\1.6r not a level 2.25

Does anybody have the specs. for the H&R springs? I thought they were some of the lowest springs. What would be the best shock for those springs, anything adjustable?
