Just read that the Fusion will be Ford's new entry in NEXTEL Cup. Wonder if this will lead to an SVT version, I know there has been speculation and wishful thinking.

It's been discussed over and over Marky ma boy. 
SVT HAS infact said they do have interest in an SVT version of Fusion.. so consider it pretty damn well plausible that by mid to end 2006... we'll be rollin' phat in our CSVT's little boy. 
If it does happen and they DO offer this car like they are talking... you can absolutly guarantee (sad, but true) my CSVT will be finding a new home.

Does it matter? The current Ford in Nextel is a non-existent 2 door Taurus. The "stock" in Naxtel is a vauge fantasy at this point.

havent been really keeping up with the Fusion news but i just looked at Ford's site and it says the 3.0 V6 will come with a 6speed atx  is there really going to be no mtx version? (with the exception of a possible svt edition) hopefully if they do make an svt edition they introduce it early in the line like the focus. that way there will be a flood of available aftermarket parts for it.

Ford and SVT are just playing tug'o war about which cars to make SVT's :-P
