Driving to work this morning I think my clutch gave out
I never noticed it slipping or anything, only problem was that for the last couple days it seemed tight going into 2nd and 3rd gears and tight trying to down-shift. While on my way to work 2 redlights trying to take off it was kinda liked it popped out of gear when I took off then after that I can not get it to go back in any gear. With the clutch pressed all the way to the floor the car starts to try and move when I attempt to push it into gear but It will never go into gear. Can someone please assist me with some good or bad news in my hopes that ut us something more simple than the clutch itself??
If it is the clutch anyone have any ideas at what the cost of repairs might be to have this work done (average so I dont get screwed)

thanks,
Kinyoto

With the clutch all the way in, the car tries to move forward (as if you were slipping the clutch) on its own?

if so, possible bad throw out bearing (still requires cluth removal)

Start by checking your shift cables under the boot (interior), under the car, running from even with the boot, forward to the tranny.,and at the bellhousing (top rear of housing...)

make sure that they move freely at the bellhousing (have a friend row through the gears and watch them... both should move..)

FWIW: clutch replacement can vary (cost of living, location, etc) and cost up to $800..or more. (parts, labor, complete)

expect to pay at least 600. anything less, and I would be suspect of the quality..

I notice that when the car is turned off I can move the shifter thru the gears easily, but with the engine on it is a different story. If it is the bearings is this something that can be preformed by someone other than a licensed mechanic?? I have worked on a few cars in my day but nothing that I would consider to be like this car..although I have had to do a few things to this car as well.
