How can you tell when a spark plug is misfiring?

Is there a way to check other than driving the car?

The reason I ask is because I am hearing a high pitched ticking sound when I accelerate plus when I am accelerating in a higher gear at lower RPM's the car seems to lag(stutter) and buck slightly. I've had the fuel pump and the filter changed plus the AIC changed and throttle body cleaned.

I'm wondering if this is a common occurance with other CSVT's?

A similar question was posted some time ago and I think the reply was to unplug one spark plug wire at a time and see if it maks a difference in the performance of the car. If it doesn't, that's the spark plug (or wire) problem.
