Forgot about the Volvo

I am sure you can get some aftermarket suspension parts for the 300, as many as they sell they would have to have an aftermarket.....Since your starting in the low 13's save the 3g's and put it in other places.....

The SRT-8 models handle decently considering they weigh over two tons, and can be made to handle better of course. The SUV idea for hauling people along with a weekend driver seems to be a better road to travel down IMHO. You get the best of both worlds that way. Plenty of room for those execs to make themselves comfortable in the SUV, and a nice weekend car for yourself and your SO. I mean it's not like you'll ever be rocketing down the street with people like that in your car anyways.

I want a S60R pretty bad. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford it so I settle with a S40 for now.

au contraire, i put down a couple stripes (and got a squeal out of a female passenger ) taking 2 big wigs and a customer to lunch. needless to say that was the last time they let me volunteer to drive.

+1 for the suv/weekend driver.

a 13 sec dd isn't a good idea for the $$ you're willing to spend and the reliability you'll need.

I see tons of 03-05 911 (some carerra's) as basically daily drivers... there ya go Dave!

But, as most have already stated... it's going to be hard to have a 13 second car/ tote around a bunch of fancy pants snobs and keep them happy. Buy an 89 CRX and feed a 200 shot in it for your 13 second ([censored].. probably 12 sec) ride and buy a limo. .

With such a HUGE open ball field on what YOU want... it's going to be hard to nail something down to what you want. Want a SUV that hauls arse?!

LS1 V8

Supercharged 6 Cyl

Turbo charged Monster

Wait for this to become available in 06 (supposedly)

Does it NEED to be a stick?!

Dave I wish I could take you for a spin around waterford in a touring prepared car, I guarantee you will never look back. Also NO NOT be afraid to get away from the mustang if you are looking into racing, I guarantee if you drive a spec miata at full speed around a road course I guarantee the experience will kick the arse out of anything you have driven on the street. Factor that by 5 if you do wheel to wheel.

That aside, the s60r is a very nice car that I think you should definitely consider as well.
The srt-8 will pretty much give you enough handling that a long as you keep it on the street, you will rarely be able to approach it's limits. It is definitely one of the be better automotive buys at the moment. 42 gets you a commodious and quite luxuriously appointed interior, navigation, and great handling power and especially braking (check out the numbers). Also consider the fact that many in the area will look negatively towards a european or japanese car.
