I would find out all about your small claims process FIRST. Then go talk with the guy but do not let him know you are considering legal action. See what he has to say, then based on what he is willing/not willing to do take the apprpriate action. You should understand the process and courses of action before you do anything.

You might get the best results from the Ministry of Transport, try your local office.

Ford can only really tell you so much, and it's not really their problem (I presume). If you know about the previous owner you could try chasing down service records, especially if it was worked on at a dealers.

I've been advised to not contact the previous owner until the small claims has been filed. Which will now happen monday.

I'm scared to do all this...

Also broke cause i bought rotors/pads from Stazi. coming soon!

muskamike: for a canadian car carfax is utterly useless.

go to your local icbc brokern and let them run the vin, you'll get tonnes more info from icbc's report.

i'm htinking that ford, built the damn car on a friday again and those lovely, precise uaw works put the miles meteres instead of km. I doubt the guy really knew that it was miles, he could have ... but I doubt it.

I'm really beginning to develop a hate on for Ford .. I managed to get to the actual upstream o2 sensors in my car and they still used downstream round connectors. now i have to deal with customs and shipping it back. i doubt ford can produuce a car with consistent parts through its generation .. jesus.
