Just installed a new "open air" K&N, and moosing started somethin' terrible. Immediately at idle, and then whenever I stepped on the go pedal. I removed the fuses to erase the perf. settings but did nothing as expected. Now it's not the ru-3530, as mines a little longer (around 10 or so "'s)but can't see how this would matter? Hmmmmm......
Ever heard of this?

I had that happen a while ago after I had the intake apart, make sure you you get everything back together correctly. The moosing went away after a short drive and has never come back.

ditto- as soon as I put my K&N in, the moosing started. as soon as I did the TH fix...it stopped

I did the TH fix on my 95 GL w/the 2.5 but have yet to see this problem on the 98 SVT I now own. Are you saying that the increase in air volume is the culprit? If so ( and don't ask me why) I wonder if the smaller filter will eliminate the problem, the current filter is a rather large K&N.

no, its not the size of the filter, its the openness. The sound was there in your stock airbox, it was just contained in a platic tube so it wasn't as noticable. Now that your filter is in open air, there is nothing to deafen the sound

I disagree, I have seen/heard moosing on a bone stock SVT.

Some cars do it worse than others, and with some cars the plastic filter housing isn't enough to contain the sound. The point is that removing the filter housing will make it louder. On some cars that means it will be noticable for the first time, while other cars it will just be incredibly noticable

neither am I..

stock SVT boot is a stock boot... I've had moosing on my stock boot.. I had it on my open air... no more often.. nor more "noticeable", just... the same.

as I have also seen/heard on my 95LX...

Not buying it..
