Easy or hard to replace a 1995 zetec waterpump ? Do you need to take the timing belt and pullys off ? The bottom TIMING BELT pully also broke and It looks to be made out of plastic .?. Could I replace the bottom pully .... without taking off the whole timing belt set_up.?. I was thinking If it was possible to slip a new pully on with out screwing up the timing ? Any help info would be great .

Yes you have to take the Timing belt off, The hardest part of the waterpump is gettin the "clip" that attaches the hose to the waterpump off and back on, It may sound easy but its not.. at all.. ..

I think it depends a little, my friends 95 didn't have the big hose going to the waterpump, so that makes it easier.

If you must do it yourself get the Zetec locking tool from SPX OTC 6486 it will lock cams and crank and is around 25 dollars. Also pick up a timing belt kit from rockauto for 115 it will include all timing parts belt rollers tensioner.

The Kit will include instructions on doing the job to the "T" even tq specs for each bolt. While your in there do the water pump, repair manuals help in knowing what is needed and how to do it right. Something like Haynes is a good book. Read it over before doing the job, they go for around 13 dollars and will give you an idea if the job seems too big to take on, or tools you may have to purchases. Also helps with other questions so is a good tool to have around, covers just about everything.
