my 99 csvt has a non-resonated system with a borla muffler that was installed by the previous owner. Recently a loud rattling noise emerged from the muffler area while accelerating. It sounds like beans in a can. I've checked all the clamps, nothing is loose. I've also checked while the car was running, and found that when I physically hold up the muffler, the rattling disappears. My ideas are that the muffler is not welded, it is only held on by the clamps so maybe welding them my keep it from rattling, but again the clamps are nice and tight. The other thing is the muffler may have been damaged in some way as it sometimes rubs on the ground when I go over large speed bumps. If anyone has had this problem with a trubendz or just a borla muffler please help.
