Couldn't one just build up the 2.5? I mean I know it is a small six and all but if we can get 396hp out of an escort's 1.9l engine we should be able to do it out of a 2.5.

What about having the heads rebuilt and port and polishing the intake manifold. If youi open up the airways the engine could breathe better.

I almost swapped a 2.5 in to my escort (way to much work though, cheaper to charge and juice it). I know there are parts for the 2.5. There are companies who will build camshafts and any internal parts one could need.

But then again this is all my opinion.
