Most GM cars are going for more under the "Super-Great Employee Pricing" than the average person was getting as a result of negotiation before. So GM is making more money on many of those sales than it would have before anyways.

It's just all about marketing. Make people think the deal they're getting on the car is super-duper fantastic and they can get it without fighting with you and they'll buy your car.

Comes down to the monthly payment, a low price at high interest rate is just fine for GM. Now employee pricing at 0% financing, thats cheap. I have no idea what rates they are offering, I wont buy GM period.

Everytime I go to buy a Ford, I get some crazy high rate offered to me at first. Last time is was 8%, wound up with 2.9. The car's price never changed (A Plan purchase) I guess its just a game you have to play even when you know the people.....

well I definitely took advantage of that employee discount. So you're welcome GM. It only knocked about a grand or two off MSRP but every bit helps.

To bad Car Sales alreayd shot themself in the foot. After sept 11 when they did all the 0% stuff the market went nuts for a bit to get new cars...but those sales have faided off.. also with warranties and much better service for used cars, Use cars are selling far far better then before. Im sure the Employee thing works well for a short time, but soon the time will come when it will go back to poor new car sales. I know here in the midwest used car sales are almost 4-1 vs about 2-1 in the US. But we drive in salt half the year, what do we car about a nice new car..

actually, with the gm "employee pricing" they are giving, they are still making money on them.

Mark up on SUV/Trucks is huge. American public is brainwashed into buying these "big, safe" vehicles. I'm surprised the market isn't changing due to gas prices. I'll take an A4 wagon over an SUV any day.

Why on earth would you want an Audi? You'd be getting VW reliability at twice the price.
