ok i gotta 96 contour se, window won't go up; all it does is just make a clicking noise. This is the driver's side window btw. The other 3 work w/o a problem. I used the window switch and relay from my 99 contour and it still does the same thing. The only other thing that i can think of is the actual window motor... any thoughts; anyone else have this problem.

Sounds like a window regulator (the part that the motor connects to). As the motor turns it raises or lowers the regulator, which is attached to the glass itself.

Yes as that is a very common problem in these cars. I suggest you try finding a used one as a new one from ford will cost you a bit here i got a quote for 450.00 canadian and that is because it is usually sold as a set with the window motor anyway.

Check on ebay. I just bought one for my Crown Victoria for like $30, shipping included. That did not include the motor, only the regulator.
