I'm thinking about installing some type of power adder to my 2000 SVT. Any thoughts on Turbos vs. Supercharger? I don't really want Nitrous and right now I'm kinda leaning towards the Turbocharger option although there doesn't seem to be many kits out there. Any suggestions?
Also, will I need to do other modifications to the engine, trans, or chassis to handle the turbo or supercharger?
Any input from anybody whose got one or the other or anybody who knows about them would be appriciated.
Thanks!!

As of right now your list for turbocharger and supercharger "bolt on" kits consists of:

  • .

Yup, that's it. Returnless fuel system was introduced on some 99MY cars and was on all of em in 2000. Vortech's supercharger is designed for a return-type system, and won't work on your car. One gentleman here on the forum is working with/waiting for Vortech to come up with something to make it work(unless I've missed a post by him stating otherwise).

You'll most likely want a Quaife or Torsen (to be released in the fall) limited slip differential. The Contour has a notoriously weak differential. There are quite a few folks here that can testify to that fact, and quite a few more that will sing the praises of the Quaife unit.

$4k for a 1 off custom turbo setup?

That sounds like a steal to me...

Without touching the motor it would need an intercooler. I'd say a good $6k and higher. A nice light pressure turbo (6psi) would be pretty sweet though... mmmm torque...
