I have a 95 SE 5 speed, just changed out the alternator recently (that was a bear) anyway, I have noticed since this was done, if I have my AC on and it's raining hard the ABS light and Traction Control light turn on and neither work. If I shut off the car and AC, then start the car again it works no problem. Turn on the AC you feel a small jerk in the drive line and the lights come on. It's strictly related to the AC being on. It happened for the 3rd time yesterday. Now I have found if the AC is on when the car is started and you sit for a little while in idle it works no problem. As far as I can tell it happens only if the AC is turned on while the vehicle is in motion and wet or while it's raining. If it's dry out, there's no problem at all. Any thoughs, ideas, things to check?

this is just a guess but is the alternator/serpentine belt set to the right tension?it seems from your post this started after you installed the alternator...maybe moisture sets off a problem with belt.

Ever have the wiring harnesses changed out? I had intermittant ABS bugs until Ford changed the harness out.

I just replaced the belt and tensioner due to other water related issues before the alternator even died.

I hope this is not it, I have well over 200K and was well past the point of wiring recalls when it was first introduced.
