Your vent hose is plugged or pinched. It looks like a vacuum hose and comes out of the top of the transmission side cover. It is clipped to the battery hold down. Its probably under the battery if it was recently removed.

Make sure the dipstick is fully seated against the tube. I just checked my trans fluid and it was tricky to seat the handle. No room for my hand. The trans vent is just a rubber hose with a right angle bend to it, mine is mounted to the battery hold down.

It is because of the placement of the solenoids on the solenoid pack. By cutting off the vent, to the tranny case, the pressure inside the case only has one other place to go.
