Well, the time is getting closer so I have to take my Contour in to get the underhood wiring recall done. Big scary job, so I want to make sure it gets done right.
Anyone have it done in a Toronto area dealer recently? Anyone have any nightmares with this?
Thanks
Erik

What's this wiring recall?! I might need it done....

Umm...Summit Ford, which is also an SVT dealer,on Highway 27 in Brampton would be a good bet to go to. One of my friends is an apprentice mechanic there.

Basically, the 95's (and early 96's?) had problems with underhood wiring cracking. The recall was for 10 years from the in service date, for replacement of the underhood harness. Now, mine was a very late purchase, (Sept 95) so I still have time, but if yours was more than ten years ago, it would have lapsed.

I generally go to Dixie in Mississauga for those things. You will never find a dealer that everyone agrees is good.

I do agree with you Laura. But never hurts to get some thoughts on the matter.
BTW, do you know anyone Contour friendly at Dixie?
Thanks
Erik

Does Alex do electrical stuff too?

BTW, great to see you again! I miss going by and seeing that pretty silver SVT of yours at FS. Oh, and the service at that store pretty well sucks since you left...

At Dixie I generally deal with Glen. He is a good guy and always treats me good.

He's taken care of just about everything for me, except my current AC not working problem but he did try to fix it for me. Call the dealer and ask for Alex the mechanic, he usually works 1-10PM Monday to Friday. As for the service at FS, you know the new location I'm at 16th and Yonge Street. Or just call me and let me know what you need to see if it's worth the drive.

So if I go to the dealer, what do I ask for or say? My wiring looks good,I haven't noticed or had any problems, but now I want to look into this.
