My parents are considering moving to Houston, TX next year (possibly August of 2006). I am just looking for general information about the area (neighborhoods that are good, night life, things to do). I will be staying here in Indiana and taking over payments of this house (mortgage at 21 years old ). thanks guys! will be visiting this september

Depending on the budget for a house, you can get extremely good houses for alot cheaper than most places in the united states. Im in the north side of houston and with so many new constructions, prices are very competitive, definately a buyers market. If your parents are looking for a realtor, id be more than willing to help

The first thing you need to do is decided what area of Houston you want to live in (West and North are the two I would want). Go to www.realtor.com to begin your search. If your parents want, I will find them a realtor in the area which they decide to look.

If you want a nice place to live try the Woodlands. It's 30-40 minutes north of Houston. I live in said area and it's really nice and clean, but it is full of a few rich people.

Tourminatorgl, he changed his name recently and i dont remember it, lives near the woodlands and can probably fill you in also, he lives in a pretty nice neighborhood off I45. Also, about the nightlife and things to do, are you looking for you or for your parents, it would be two different things But yea, letting us know a price range and location (if you have a preferred one) would help a ton.

I would suggest the North side of Houston. Specially Spring or The Woodlands area. It's just a short distance from the city. It's so nice over here. They got very nice houses, neighborhoods are nice. Specially the newer ones. Much more peaceful over here than in the city.(Much less crime) The houses cost just a bit more here than in the city, but it's definately worth living in this beautiful area. Some places to hang out in Houston are in down town. They got an aquarium, theaters, night clubs/bars, and other things. They got an AstroWorld theme park here and Splashtown Waterpark in Spring. Richmond Ave. has several good night clubs, bars, strip clubs and other things. They have a Houston Zoo here too, but I dont remember where it is.Sill much more to do over here. Maybe someone else can fill in more.

lol, not me, just the parents. i have too much going on locallly (work, school, friends, etc...) to justify moving my entire life. that's why if they move to houston, i will be taking over payments of our house here locally. of course, i would be in the houston area every now and then for visiting

houston is like the simpsons. we have everything, da hooo, river oaks, nighlife (can get really crazy if u want) kingwood, woodlands. It all depends what your parents like, like up north fromt the woodlands is nicer but its not as combiniant (Sp?) as moving closer to the city. Where i live we have no crime and i live in the middle class area. But the really good thing about living in my area is that everything is like 5 or 10 minutes away. Like Bruce's favorite bar is 5 minutes away.
