I just came back from the wrecker, disassembled a MAF sensor filament part just for fun. These filaments are small, but not that fragile as previously thought. They are in fact fairly sturdy. I was not able to bend or break them by touching them and I see no reason why they would not be cleaned by gentle brushing, if electronics cleaner does not remove all of the deposits. Soft toothbrush and gentle touching should do the trick. Emphasis is on GENTLE.
