I was looking at buying a 98+ contour but wondering if parts are still readily available and decently priced for these cars (i4 or v6)...
Also, did they ever make any 98+ contour that didn't have the chip in the key?

Never made a Post 96 (IIRC) without PATS.
Parts are readily available, at all dealers, eith the exception of VERY few items that will have to be ordered next day to that dealer.
CEG members receive MAJOR discounts at Signature Lincoln Mercury, and Tousley Ford (read:40-60% OFF LIST!!!)

OH.. you are right.. it is a V6 thing... I read the V6 statement in his original post and I guess I phased out the I4 part of the equation.
Thanks

I'm going to have to come down to your dealer from now on. Every part I tried to buy for my car had to be ordered with the exception of a exhaust flange gasket. Every single part I asked about over a 1 month period had to be ordered.
They always told me next day or following day after, and never showed up when it should of.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Bill Jenkins is not a dealership.

He works at one, though.
Tousley Ford is one, too, and they've either had all the parts I needed, or had them in one day, and shippid NEXT DAY for free, to make up for it...
