A lower temperature thermostat has always been a good way to help make power. Just as a FYI. Most performance engine builders(sean hyland motorsports, DSS, etc.) are not reccommending lower temp thermostats for engine use. Thier findings have shown that not allowing the engine to reach normal operating temperature (200 degrees?)leads to premature/excessive cylinder wall and piston ring wear. Now, I have always run 180's in my cars and have not had any problems. But they are the paid professionals. Just figured I'd let you know.
