Hi,

Just today my 96 duratec has been acting up. first if I am on 4th gear going at a constant speed it would begin "chugging" then for a momment it would be fine. I am also experiencing loss of power at about 3500 rpm and according to what I have read it may be an IMRC problem. Also when i come to a stop it sometimes shuts off completely. Could IMRC cause all of this? My CEL is on. I had it scanned a week before and it said IMRC closed shut.

Thank you

Sounds like you've got 2 seperate problems. For one, it does sound as if the IMRC box is not opening the secondaries. That would explain the loss of power above 3500rpms, and the "chugging" in 4th gear. As for the car dieing when coming to a stop, could be a number of things. We could use some more info about the car. How many miles, what kind of maintenance has been performed, what year/model?

for starters within the 7 months I have replaced the EGR valve, one o2 sensor, front driver side wheel bearing, back brakes, transmission fluid change, strut bearings, tires, and cleaned the throttle body. The car has on it 194000km with oil changes done every 3500km.
