Note 12% drop in Ford cars while Jag & Lincoln grow

Ford Reports 7.4% Drop Amid Fleet-Sales Decline

Ford on Wednesday said U.S. customers purchased or leased
307,061 cars and trucks from Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Jaguar, Volvo
and Land Rover dealers in April, down from 318,812 a year earlier.

Ford said total car sales fell nearly 12% to 114,137 from 124,511,
while truck sales fell 4.5% to 192,924 from 194,301.

By brand, Ford sales fell 8% to 257,782; Mercury sales fell 15% to
20,768; Lincoln sales rose nearly 12% to 11,256; Jaguar sales rose
nearly 27% to 5,441; Volvo sales fell nearly 14% to 9,039, and Land
Rover sales rose 29% to 2,775.

Ford, Dearborn, Mich., noted that Jaguar and Land Rover posted
record April sales, with April marking the ninth month in a row of
record sales for Jaguar and the sixth month in a row of record sales at
Land Rover.

You have to remember not all people associate Jag and Land Rover with FORD MOT. CO. Also Ford has been hit hard with the tire recall that will take years to fix.

But I do agree that Ford needs a appeal car, NOW!

Me too, dealer. But I am never comfortable in cool looking cars like that or the cougar. The low roofline means my head is too close to the roof.

I think the Tib is decent also, just strange how they look so similar. I'm not a fan of those other pics either Mushu... frown Looks too much along the lines of the Taurus. But hey, if that is the case, it will sell like hotcakes!

Last time I was in Australia, I saw some pretty nasty Ford 4 door cars that had a 4.0L V8 (if my memoery serves me correctly, that is). They looked good and they were exceptionally fast (250 KPH). 1998 was the last time I was there. Anyone know what car I'm talking about?
