....with that straight pipe and all I can say is SWEEEET! No rasp at all.....just a nice deep tone! No drone either, You can't really hear it once you hit around 40 - 50 mph, It's only really notiucable at slow speeds. It seems rasp is only caused when the exhaust is cold etc, well, living in Vegas I dont think I have to worry about that, well maybe not until the winter but even then I dont think it's gonna be "that" bad. It sounds great. and for $25 at MIDAS, can't go wrong with that. Doesnt really feel like much of a power gain, maybe a little but nothing really noticeable. a must do on Duratec's (Not that zetec's or SVT's should it, but I dont know what it sounds like on them and it maybe different.....you know what i mean...lol).

I agree. I thought the exhaust tone was fine and it was only slightly louder, so my wife didn't even notice it! (Then came the dual exhaust conversion, but that's another story....) It seemed like my temp was running a little lower with the res out also.

They cut out the res, then cut a piece of stainless steel exhuast pipe ( not sure the length but the diameter would of been 2" for my stock exhaust) to fit the gap and welded it in place. Thats it! I will take some pics of it if you would like?

I have done this on my car as well. I like the tone once it has warmed up. Do any of you have the Sho Shop y-pipe also? I do, and I get this horrible rattling sound that starts about 3250 RPM's, it goes away when the car is warm. Is this the heat sheild on the cat that causes that? If so, that sucker is getting removed tomorrow! Thanx.
