I have a 99 SE 2.5 mtx that had charging problems ~ 1 moth ago. Replaced alternator, battery, and megafuse - the megafuse was the culprit then as it was broken. That prob started after a particularly hard/fast right-hand turn (flickering batt light going to full on light and dead batt).

Today I made another exceedingly tight right-hand turn and by the time I was half-way home I noticed a too-familiar batt light flicker on. I don't believe this is a coincidence. Can anyone remember something similar and more importantly what the solution may be?

Important notes - the front/rear roll-arrestors have been mostly filled with poly, the car has been dropped ~1.5 inches (Eibachs w/KYB's all around), and I live in the pothole hades of SE Mich.

Any helpful ideas/experiences? Thanks.

loose wire maybe?

I would be worried about more other things then the charging system taking a tight right hand corner to hard

I thought that myself initially and I've checked for loose wires repeatedly, but found nothing. With a fuse rated at 175 amps I would expect to see scorch-marks with a noticable smell if the fuses died from shorting. Also, I would think the fuse would be blown immediately - not dying slowly over several hundred miles as they have.

As to the other worries associated with right-hand turns, I change the oil (six quart refill) ~2800-3200 and check the levels often. I'm not as concerned about oil starvation in these turns as they are of very short duration with adequate oil levels.

Are there other turn-n-burn problems that you're aware of? Thanks for your input in any case.

J.
