Hi All-

Great site, glad I found it. Anyway, I have an issue with my 98 Contour V6. At night when my lights are on, they seem to "pulsate", kinda go dim, then back to normal, quite a bit. The interior lights and the CD changer control all do it too and I was wondering where to start troubleshooting this problem.

Thanks for all your insight.

Chad

Hook a volt meter to your battery and turn everything on...your lights, heater defrost ect. With the meter connected to read volts, you should still be charging the battery...around 14 volts. If the meter shows a draw...less than 12 volts, then your discharging the battery and that would indicate a voltage regulator problem within the alternator. Make sure you have good clean battery connections as well. I suspect an alternator problem, or dirty battery connection.

Yep. Also check to see if you see drastic changes in the voltage... it should hold pretty steady.
